York City Education Association

York City Education Association (YCEA) is an affiliate of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) and the National Education Association (NEA).

We are members who promote, protect, and advocate for our schools, students, and professions. As a professional learning community, we are working to make York City schools the best they can be. We educate the whole child by providing an engaging and challenging learning environment to ensure each student receives a premier education. Weingarten Rights

Your Weingarten Rights ensure your right to representation in a meeting with your supervisor/principal.  If you are called into a meeting which you reasonably believe may lead to any sort of disciplinary action and you do not have a YCEA building rep with you, state the following:

If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my Association representative be present at the meeting.  Without representation, I choose not to answer any questions.
